Words Words Words


I don't know why it took me so long to realize that I need my kids to read on their own.  That means they need to know how to read words.  Schools don't help much with that.  It's done by the parents or children will have to wait for that magical moment of self-realization.

So I started index cards with Ethan and Artimus.  So far, so good.  They are making super progress but they are far from knowing the necessary words to read on their own.  Again, this is a labor of love.  But they sure make me laugh when they try to figure out the words ... does "and" sound like "turkey" or "love" or whatever wild guesses they make?
